Emerald Park BBQ Nights
Fancy combining dinner with some of Ireland’s most thrilling rides?
Emerald Park is hosting a special BBQ night on Friday, 11th September, in its new Garden Marquee.
The evening runs from 6pm to 10pm and includes a BBQ followed by access to some of Emerald Park’s most dramatic rides, including Cú Chulainn, Fianna Force and Quest.
Tickets are €600 for a table of 10, making this a great option for groups, friends or work outings.
The event is over 18s only and advance booking is required.
After an evening of food, fun and adrenaline, we’ll provide a peaceful place to relax and unwind.
Culture Night in the Boyne Valley
Culture Night returns on Friday, 18th September 2026, with events taking place throughout the country.
The 21st edition of Culture Night celebrates Ireland’s creativity, arts and culture, with participating venues across towns, villages and rural communities opening their doors for special events and experiences.
Best of all, activities are available to the public free of charge.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to discover something new, experience local culture and explore the Boyne Valley from a different perspective.
The Lú Festival of Light
As autumn moves towards Halloween, Drogheda becomes the setting for the spectacular Lú Festival of Light.
From 23rd to 26th October, some of Drogheda’s most iconic heritage buildings will be transformed after dark with colourful projections telling stories inspired by ancient mythology, legendary figures and the characters of Ireland’s past.
The festival is family friendly and includes free outdoor events, fire performers, stilt walkers and characters, alongside a programme of ticketed events.
It’s a wonderful evening experience and another reason to explore beyond the immediate surroundings of Decoy during an autumn stay.
Spirits of Meath Halloween Festival
If you want to experience Halloween where the traditions of Samhain began, autumn in Meath is the place to be.
The Spirits of Meath Festival runs from 2nd October to 8th November, with events taking place throughout County Meath.
The Boyne Valley is internationally recognised as one of the places where the ancient traditions of Samhain originated. The Hill of Ward near Athboy, historically known as Tlachtga, has particularly strong connections with the ancient festival and its fire ceremonies.
Today, those traditions have evolved into a huge programme of Halloween events, from family-friendly daytime activities to more atmospheric and frightening experiences after dark.
Whether you enjoy history, mythology, food, entertainment or a good fright, there is plenty to discover.
Púca Festival
One of the biggest highlights of the autumn calendar is Púca Festival, returning to Trim and Athboy from 29th October to 1st November.
The festival celebrates the ancient traditions of Samhain through music, performance, storytelling, food and spectacular events across the Boyne Valley.
With an impressive line-up already announced, including The Coronas, Jerry Fish, Hothouse Flowers, KÍLA, Qween & The Dublin Gospel Choir, Enya Martin and many more, Púca promises another unforgettable Halloween weekend.

There is plenty to see and do throughout the region, from visiting the ancient passage tombs of Newgrange and Knowth to exploring the Hill of Tara, walking along the River Boyne or discovering the historic town of Trim and its magnificent castle.
