Getting Around During Your Stay
Driving
Once you get to Decoy Country Cottages there is plenty to keep you occupied – maybe you just want to chill and switch off – you can even unplug by using one of our Stolp boxes but once you are ready to go exploring the wealth of attractions in the area, driving is the best way to get the most out of your stay at Decoy Country Cottages. Our location is nestled in The Boyne Valley and we are blessed to be surrounded by places to visit, many of them are heritage sites that are in rural locations and although some of them are accessible by public transport, most are not so having a car means you will be able to visit all those wonderful sites and places that are not served by public transport.
Public Transport Options
Our nearest bus stop is a 20 minute walk from the cottages (2km) and from here you can get a bus to Dublin or Navan. The nearest train station is at Dunboyne (Pace) and you need a car to get there. From there you can get a train to Dublin. You can also drive as far as Broombridge Luas tram station and get the Luas in to Dublin City Centre
Most drivers bring their car with them but if you are arriving by plane then you can hire a car at the airport. An automatic car is a good idea then you only have to concentrate on driving on the left!
If you do not want to drive then we would highly recommend Derek from Custom Irish Tours who will be happy to do the driving for you. Please contact Derek on +353(0)866055537
Derek has years of experience under his belt taking visitors the length and breadth of the country so all you have to do is relax and enjoy the scenery
