From March 2026, we are introducing a brand new outdoor Wellness Retreat designed to complement the peaceful surroundings of the Meath countryside. Thoughtfully created for recovery and reconnection, this new space offers guests a deeply relaxing spa-style experience in a private, natural setting.
Overlooking rolling fields and open skies, the wellness area invites you to step away from everyday pressures and immerse yourself in stillness.
A Countryside Spa Experience
Our outdoor wellness space has been designed to feel calm, secluded and unhurried. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic escape, a restorative break with friends, or simply craving time to breathe, the experience centres around simplicity and nature.
The retreat includes:
- A 6-person Scandinavian-style sauna
- Invigorating cold shower
- A handcrafted 2-person Hikki outdoor tub
- Sweeping countryside views
- Complete privacy during your session
Every cottage booking includes one complimentary one-hour private wellness session per stay. Sessions must be reserved in advance to ensure exclusivity, and additional sessions can be added if you wish to extend the experience.
Scandinavian-Style Sauna
The newly installed sauna offers gentle, enveloping heat designed to:
- Ease muscle tension
- Support recovery after walking, hiking or golf
- Relieve stress
- Improve circulation
- Encourage deep relaxation
After warming in the sauna, guests can refresh with the cold shower, embracing the traditional Nordic contrast therapy approach. The shift between heat and cold stimulates the body and leaves you feeling both relaxed and revitalised.

Immersive Outdoor Bathing With the Hikki Tub
At the heart of the retreat is our handcrafted 2-person Hikki outdoor tub.
Set among mature trees and overlooking the peaceful Meath landscape, this open-air bathing experience allows you to soak beneath wide skies and evening stars. With minimal light pollution, stargazing becomes part of the ritual.
Guests can choose between:
- Instant running hot water for convenience
- Wood-fired heating for a slower, more traditional soak
This setting naturally encourages you to slow down and savour the moment.
Optional Irish Seaweed Bath Experience
For those wishing to elevate the experience further, a traditional Irish seaweed bath can be added to your session.
Seaweed bathing has long been valued for its:
- Skin-nourishing minerals
- Detoxifying properties
- Muscle-soothing qualities
- Deep relaxation benefits
Each seaweed bag can be used up to three times, allowing you to take it home and recreate the ritual after your stay.
Designed for Romantic Escapes, Digital Detox & Recovery Breaks
The Wellness Retreat has been carefully integrated into the Decoy experience. It pairs beautifully with:
- Romantic countryside stays
- Mindfulness and wellness breaks
- Digital detox escapes (with our optional Stolp box to truly switch off)

- Small group relaxation sessions
After a day visiting Newgrange, the Hill of Tara or Trim Castle, there’s something special about returning to heat, water and open skies.
For an added touch, guests can arrange a chilled bottle of prosecco to enjoy during their session.
While high-speed fibre WiFi is available throughout the complex, many guests choose this space as an opportunity to step back from screens and reconnect with nature and with each other.

Each cottage stay includes one complimentary one-hour private session, which must be booked in advance to guarantee your preferred time slot. Additional sessions and seaweed bath experiences are available at an extra cost.
